- The design of the S-M10 features a sleek, attractive and aerodynamic profile, free of any external channels or characteristics that could act as load points during an impact or compromise the overall integrity of the helmet's construction.
- The curvature of the surface promotes reduced friction during impact, allowing for the most efficient diversion and transfer of energy to protect the rider's head against the direct force on the skull and transferred to the neck and spine.
- The S-M10 shell size solution ensures that each helmet size has its own appropriately sized shell to provide the most suitable anatomical solution for the wide variety of fit needs worldwide.
- Removable side pads made from semi-soft polymer for enhanced protection offer a larger contact area to help distribute impact energy.
- The patented A-Head Fitment system allows for easy adjustment of the angle and height at which the helmet rests on the head.
- Ultra-ventilated helmet with 28 individual intake and exhaust ports, not including the eye port, with 18 intakes and 10 exhausts, for optimal ventilation.
- Multi-directional impact protection system (MIPS). MIPS is a system designed to slow down rotational forces that can result from certain impacts and works by adding two low-friction layers that slide against each other, essentially simulating the brain's own low-friction cerebrospinal fluid, which is the body's natural defence against oblique impacts.
- Emergency release visor system (ERS) and a new visor extension to provide protection against dust and sunlight.
- The new ejection technology includes a helmet ejection removal system.
- Helmet composition:
- 20% POLYURETHANE, 17% POLYCHLOROPRENE, 16% CARBON FIBRE, 14% GLASS FIBRE, 12% POLYSTYRENE (EPS), 7% ARAMID FIBRE, 7% POLYAMIDE, 4% POLYVINYL CHLORIDE, 2% STEEL and 1% EXPANDED POLYPROPYLENE.
- Protection:
- The helmet shell construction uses highly advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination:
- 3K Carbon, high-density outer carbon layer that enhances strength and energy dissipation efficiency throughout the shell.
- Unidirectional carbon composite layer that provides significantly greater radial strength around the shell, preventing compression yet allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy.
- Aramid fibre layer that provides critical protection against penetration.
- This combination of layers is further enhanced by epoxy resin bonding that offers the best possible strength and energy management; limited deflection of the outer shell means energy spreads more widely and is better absorbed by the 4-density EPS liner.
- The newly redesigned chin bar profile, where the base area has been specifically sculpted to create a relief section, raised to clear the collarbone, with a new softer EPS liner that extends beyond the helmet shell itself, covered by a more flexible rubber compound to reduce the risk of collarbone injury.
