The RFX Pro brake pedals are designed and tested for use at the highest level.

The Pro brake pedals are made from 7075-T6 aluminium and feature a forged OEM-type axle. The smooth finish of the axle helps reduce wear associated with a grooved design.

The Pro series flexible ends are made from CNC machined aluminium billets and have a spring-loaded rotating tip that turns upon impact, such as in a rut, to reduce damage. The tip is also equipped with sharp teeth to improve grip in muddy conditions.

Flexible ends of the Pro series also incorporate a stop on the swivelling tip, which limits the tip to 90 degrees of rotation, preventing damage that can occur if the tip turns under the clutch cover.

The Pro brake pedals also include a cable brake snake, preventing the pedal axle from bending in the event of a collision.

Features:

  • New solid end made from 7075-T6 billets, with a flow design.
  • New 2-position adjustment on the tip.
  • New optional hard anodised end version available for current models.
  • New brake snake style with adjustable clamp.
  • New hard black anodised shaft to prevent corrosion and reduce wear.
  • Comes complete with bearings and rings for certain models.
  • Laser engraved logo.

Fitting instructions:

  • Start by noting the height of the pedal tip relative to the footpeg.
  • Remove the R clip or split pin from the back of the brake bolt located behind the frame.
  • Remove the pivot bolt holding the pedal to the frame.
  • Detach the pedal return spring and let it hang.
  • Rotate the pedal outwards to expose the split pin at the back of the pedal bracket.
  • Remove this split pin and the positioning peg; the rear brake pedal will now come off.
  • Remove the oil seals from the old pedal, clean them and replace them onto the new pedal.
  • Clean all parts with a multi-purpose lubricant such as Maxima MPPL, ready to be reinstalled.
  • Reattach the brake bracket, retaining pin, and split pin.
  • Reinstall the return spring.
  • Apply Maxima waterproof grease to the pivot bolt, align the pivot hole, and put the bolt back in place.
  • Torque the pivot bolt to the required specification according to the user manual.
  • Reinstall the R clip/split pin at the back of the pivot bolt.
  • Once the pedal is secured, adjust the height of the pedal to get the correct position and play by loosening the nut above the bracket and turning the plunger bolt in or out as needed.
  • Now fit the brake snake.
  • Japanese models - Remove the nut and washer from the lower engine mount, replace the old washer with the new washer fixed to the brake snake.
  • KTM models - Remove the new washer attached to the brake snake, set it aside as it is not needed on the KTM, loop the cable around the lower engine mount and reinstall it inside the crimp fitting.
  • Adjust the correct tension on the brake snake, remembering to allow for a downward extension of the pedal.
  • Crimp the fitting with pliers and cut off the excess cable.
